These seed crackers are a great grain free snack that is sure to please and are also nutritious accompaniments to Nourish Bowls and to have with dips.

Ingredients:

1 cup of almond flour

2 teaspoons of chia seeds

2 tablespoon of flaxseeds

2 tablespoon of pepita seeds

2 egg white

1 pinch of Himalayan or sea salt

approx. 100ml of water (you are trying to form a dough)

Method:

  • Preheat the oven to 160 deg. C
  • In a bowl, mix the almond flour, seeds, egg white and salt until if forms a paste.  Let it sit
  • Grease a slice tray and then line it with baking paper. Oil the baking paper.
  • Place the dough in the middle of the paper and top with another piece of oiled paper.
  • Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough as thin as you can.
  • When done, peel off the top layer of paper and score the dough to the cracker shape and size you desire.
  • Bake in the oven at 160 deg. C for ten minutes and then check.
  • You want them to have a slight colour – this means they will be crispy but they won’t have a burnt taste.
  • Remove the crackers that are coloured and return the rest to the oven.
  • Repeating this procedure every five minutes until all the crackers are done.
  • Cool completely and store in an airtight container.
