~ Naturopathy

Naturopathy draws on medicines from nature to promote healing within the body. These natural medicines, including herbs, foods and nutritional supplements are aimed at helping your body heal itself so that you can reach your best health potential.  Treatments are individual, and focused on using naturopathic diagnostic tools and gentle natural remedies to remove the underlying cause of disharmony or disease and bring the body back into balance. Physical, mental and emotional aspects of your health are all taken into account in your treatment.  Naturopathy can also play a beneficial supporting role to medical treatments.  Naturopathic treatments work gently and more slowly but they bring the body back to a state of balanced health.

~ Clinical Nutrition

“You are what you eat”.  Every day we make choices about food, and these choices have a direct impact on our health – contributing to the prevention, management, or onset of many chronic diseases.   Many factors have a negative impact on our access to nutrients within our foods, including changes in farming methods, depleted soils, food processing & storage, micro waving, plus regular caffeine, alcohol, and the like. Poor digestion and nutrient assimilation is often also an issue in our increasingly stressful lives. The use of diet as a therapy serves as the foundation of naturopathic medicine. There is an ever-increasing body of knowledge that supports the use of whole foods and nutritional supplements in health maintenance & disease treatment.   A Dietary Assessment will assist you in using your diet to achieve and maintain optimum health.

~ Herbal Medicine

A profound transformation in health can be achieved by using the right herbal medicines. Herbal Medicines have been used by different cultures for centuries to prevent or treat almost every disease. Medicinal herbs when used correctly, are extremely beneficial in relieving ‘dis-ease’  and supporting the body’s natural ability to heal. The combination of carefully chosen herbal extracts, dietary advice & lifestyle recommendations frequently prove effective in relieving ill health and promoting a return to health. Herbal medicine is safe, gentle, and effective when prescribed by a fully qualified and accredited Naturopath or Herbalist. The medicinal properties of herbal medicine such as teas, tinctures, capsules and tablets are increasingly being validated by rigorous scientific investigation.

~ Weight Loss

When undertaking a weight loss program it can  be beneficial to seek help from a health professional who can give you both the knowledge and support required to achieve your goals.  It is important that you follow a weight loss program that suits you, is not detrimental to your health and wellbeing but also assesses any underlying health issues. Marianne will discuss weight loss options with you and tailor a program to your needs.  She also works with the Shake-It Weight Loss Program and the HCG Diet.
